Brisbane Undergraduate Mentorship Program
First cohort: September 2026 - October 2026, Brisbane, Queensland
We will need people of all skills and backgrounds to build the future of computing in Australia.
Our vision is to support and grow a community of people right here in Queensland who know what it takes to build, use and apply quantum computing.
Our free and voluntary program is designed to connect undergraduate students to the quantum computing ecosystem. You’ll hear more about what quantum computing is, get advice from our technology leaders on how they built their careers, and where a career in quantum computing can take you.
Why join?
Weekly group mentoring sessions (in person):
These sessions will typically be held on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00pm - 5:00pm.
Individual mentoring sessions (in person or online):
Book time with our mentors to hear more about their field and ways you can build your pathway into quantum computing.
Visit our facilities:
During the program you’ll get to visit our Test and Validation Lab at Griffith University.
Eligibility
We’re looking for several students to join our program. To participate, you must:
Be at least 18 years old.
Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree at a Queensland-based university. As part of your application, will need to provide evidence of your enrolment. You can contact your university for an enrolment statement confirming you are a current undergraduate student at a Queensland-based university.
This program is the right fit for you if:
You want to turn impossible challenges into possible ones.
You’re excited by technical challenges: from chemistry to engineering.
You’re keen to connect with similar people to share ideas and build your network.
You don’t need to be an expert at quantum computing, but you should know a little bit about subjects such as engineering, mathematics, physics, and science to get the most out of the program.
